DESCRIPTION:Aspiring to take on a leadership role is very a positive trait 
 to encourage in people\, especially early-career engineers. However\, lead
 ership is a very challenging skill to teach. Many people appear to be natu
 ral leaders without any formal training\, while other people appear to be 
 unteachable in their efforts to become effective leaders.
 The fundamenta
 l success factor for leading an activity and/or a team rather than simply 
 doing something\, is taking accountability for the outcome. Taking account
 ability differentiates leaders from contributors. Preparing people for lea
 dership roles can be effectively addressed in moderated workshops led by p
 eople who have experience in successfully leading teams and organisations 
 themselves.
